A Post-Replacement Life: What Will It Look Like?
Back in mid-March, I packed up everything from my office that I would need for the next two weeks in order to successfully work from home. The funny thing is, it’s December and I still haven’t been able to “successfully” work from home.
Those first two weeks, the only thing I was concerned about was whether or not March Madness would be canceled. Sure, the world was shutting down, but how long could this possibly last, right?
After two weeks went by, my son’s school announced that they would remain closed but be going all virtual. My husband’s office told everyone to stay home and work remotely.
We did and still do take this virus very seriously. This means no one came to our house anymore, including the woman we employed to watch our youngest son during the day, pick up our oldest from school, and then stay at our home until 6pm when my husband got home from work.
The next few months included me helping one son navigate online learning, caring for the other one who was still a year out from starting school, all the typical domestic duties I normally did, and, oh yeah, trying to keep my business from drowning.
